Welcome to Eye Care for Durango! Your vision is very important to us.

We take the time to tailor our recommendations to your individual needs, using the latest in digital eye examination technologies.

Because we know how much your eye health and appearance can mean to the quality of your life, we are committed to servicing your complete eye care needs (including corrective lenses, eye diseases, red eye treatment, and foreign body removals).

Our services go beyond writing a prescription for your eyeglasses or contact lenses.  Our comprehensive eye exams will:

  • Identify if you have special risks that need to be addressed
  • Take your personal health history, as well as your lifestyle, into consideration.
  • Detect eye diseases- such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration.

In addition, our comprehensive eye examinations include the following testing:

  • Uncorrected visual acuity
  • Refraction to determine your prescription for glasses or contact lenses
  • Best corrected visual acuity
  • Binocular visual assessment
  • Extraocular movement assessment
  • Pupillary assessment
  • Automated visual field testing
  • Intraocular pressure testing
  • Extraocular muscle testing
  • Slit lamp evaluation of the external ocular health
  • Retinal evaluation (dilation is included, if the doctor determines that it is necessary)
  • Prescription for spectacles (if needed)
  • As part of your exam, we do 3 different screening tests to examine your eyes for glaucoma.

  • Routine vision exam (includes glasses prescription): $79
  • Contact lens exam(includes contact lens & glasses prescriptions: $143-$158
  • Medical office visit (red eye, foreign body, eye disease treatment):$49-$168

Your child's eye exam is covered by your insurance plan.  The Affordable Care Act requires that pediatric vision benefits are required to be offered to individuals and small employers, as part of your insurance plan.
